The charter fleet on Block Island are diverse accommodating. There is something for everyone and every ability. If you want to take your family out, a recommended trip would be bottom fishing. Shorter trips and close to shore, bottom fishing is fun for kids because it is easy and they are almost guaranteed to reel one in. Fishing is a wilderness sport so sometimes you don't catch. It's called getting "skunked." Even so, a nice day out on the water is usually something special in an of itself. On the flip side when the bite is good, it can be an adventure. The Captains do their best to catch and they are experienced, they'll tell you how the fishing's been before you decide to book.

Good to Know
Aside from charter fishing, there are many opportunities to hook up or dig for shellfish all around the island. more
