Another way to find out where to fish is to visit Twin Maples Bait & Tackle shop on Beach Avenue (just up the street from the Fire Barn.) Owner John is usually around talking fishing with the locals. The best way to learn where to fish is to gather your tips, then head out there and "put in your time!" A recommended first time fishing trip and great for kids is an inshore trip bottom fishing. Why? You are close to shore in case the seas are too rough for the stomach and the odds are in favor of hooking up often. Bottom fishing you can catch fluke and scup. Since they are so abundant and easy to hook, you will be almost guaranteed a tight line. You may also request a shorter trip for bottom fishing.
